Description

The Air Jordan 1 was launched in 1985 and marked first basketball shoe named after Michael Jordan—ushering in an era. Its design drew inspiration from the then-popular Air Force 1, while featuring a reduced midsole thickness to cut weight and enhance ground feel, along with a heel Air Sole unit. The iconic ‘Jumpman’ logo was created by Peter Moore, Creative Director at the time. As a revolutionary sneaker, the Air Jordan 1 was once heavily fined for violating the league’s uniform policy—but this ban only fueled its popularity, triggering a massive surge in demand and cementing its legendary status.
