D'Addario has been working on the development of long-life strings that combine natural tone and touch feeling like uncoated strings that have been said to be difficult to achieve by combining the latest unique coating technology with materials such as NYSteel that have been developed so far and innovative elements such as Fusion Twists.

The XT series achieved an unprecedented longevity by applying a coating to the winding string with high-carbon steel as the core wire using a unique coating technology, and finally completed a string boasting high performance not found in coated strings until now in terms of strength, pitch stability, and corrosion resistance.

● Natural tone It plays a tone as long and clear as the overtones of uncoated strings.

●Excellent pitch stability Tuning stability has been improved by 131% compared to conventional strings.

●Improved strength during picking Strength tests have increased strength by up to 42%, making it harder to break.

The XT Series' new coating technology has made it possible to apply ultra-thin micropolymer coatings to all types of strings using a unique new process. In corrosion tests, we succeeded in obtaining higher corrosion resistance even when compared to the EXP series coated strings up until now, and despite having a longer lifespan and higher corrosion resistance, the strings are finished with a natural sound and feel like uncoated strings.

In the EXP series, coating treatment for wire materials was outsourced to an external technology company, but in the XT series, a unique new coating facility was installed within the same office building. As a result, all manufacturing processes can now be completed within our own facility, and we have realized a process where freshly made wire materials are coated in the best condition without requiring extra movement or packaging as before.
