BioRoot Mangrove / Mangrove Root – Natural Terrarium and Aquarium Decoration Mangrove root is a classic in aquaria and terrariums. Heavy, massive, with irregular shapes and a natural texture, it has been the basis of many arrangements for years. Its dense structure means it doesn't float in the water, and its spreading forms are great for creating space in the terrarium. Ready to use: simply rinse to remove shipping/storage dust. Terrarium use Its high weight and stability make it an excellent base for arrangements in tropical and dry terrariums. The uneven surface facilitates planting with mosses, lichens, and epiphytes. It goes perfectly with cork tubes and cork sheets, creating a base for dense vegetation. Adapted to size and animals XS (~10 cm) - young tarantulas, jumping spiders, praying mantises. S (~20 cm) - tarantulas, scorpions, crabs, small lizards M (20–35 cm) – medium lizards (eublefars, smaller agamas), young snakes. L (40–50 cm) – adult agamas, geckos, snakes up to 120 cm long. XL (70–110 cm) – large snakes (e.g. carpet pythons), larger iguanas, central element of large terrariums. XXL (150–180 cm) – monumental structures for show terrariums and zoological exhibits; a dominant element in the arrangement. Use in an aquarium Very heavy – requires no additional weight and sinks immediately. Gradually releases tannins , lowering the pH and coloring the water amber – beneficial for many biotope fish (e.g. discus, cichlids, shrimp). An excellent base for mosses and aquarium epiphytes; the stable surface favors anchoring plants. In larger sizes, it can constitute a stand-alone, sculptural tank decoration. Why is it worth choosing mangrove root? 100% natural, free of chemicals and dyes. Very heavy – does not float in water. Comes in impressive sizes up to 180 cm. Perfect for biotope aquariums and large display terrariums. Each specimen is unique. Expert Tips In an aquarium, you can boil it before use to speed up the tannin release process. In a terrarium, stabilize the base of larger specimens with a stone or cork to prevent shifting. XXL sizes are great for display arrangements – combine them with Dragon Stone for the effect of "roots growing out of the rock." Use fishing line or aquarium silicone for planting mosses and epiphytes. Specification Type: Mangrove / Mangrove root Sizes: XS ( Intended use: terrarium and aquarium Origin: Asia
