Water filter technology ensures additional hygiene in your automatic coffee machine – starting with the water tank.

CLARIS filter cartridges have an additional reservoir at the bottom with natural active ingredients that stabilize the water in the tank, thus reducing the formation of limescale deposits at the bottom.

No additional energy is required – everything is achieved solely by the natural movement of the water in the tank, which constantly flows gently through the filter reservoir. As before, the upper part of the CLARIS filter cartridge uses ion exchangers and activated carbon and, using an upward flow principle, filters precisely the amount of water needed to prepare the perfect cup of coffee.

Thanks to RFID technology, the coffee machine also recognizes whether a filter is inserted and automatically activates the appropriate operating mode. The machine continuously collects information on filter usage and reports when it reaches its capacity limit.

This not only makes changing the filter easier than ever, but also ensures the CLARIS Smart+ system operates at maximum efficiency.

Automatic filter detection

JURA uses modern RFID technology to enable communication between the filter and the automatic coffee machine. Every machine with the Intelligent Water System (I.W.S.®) automatically recognizes when the filter is in use, switches to filter mode, and begins rinsing.

When the filter is nearing the end of its service life, the automatic coffee machine notifies you that the filter needs replacing. If this isn't done, the machine starts descaling mode. After a sufficient period of use, the machine prompts you to descale.

This can only be done by removing the filter. Operating errors resulting from misunderstandings are a thing of the past.
