Description

This is a collaboration model between PRO TREK, which pursues outdoor usability and focuses on functionality and operability, and the Nature Conservation Society of Japan*, which continues to explore, protect, and utilize various natural environments throughout Japan, from mountains to the sea. PRO TREK has been supporting the Nature Conservation Society of Japan since 2018, and this time, we focused on Minakami Town, one of the key areas where the Society focuses its environmental conservation efforts. Minakami Town, home to a still-unspoiled natural environment, produced the first drops of the Tone River and is known as the water reservoir of the Tokyo metropolitan area, supporting the wildlife surrounding Tokyo. The details of the design are based on this backdrop. The dial depicts the snow that has accumulated on Mt. Omikami, beginning to spread drop by drop toward each river. Inspired by the story of "mountains and water," the design emphasizes legibility with white and blue accent colors. Additionally, the small hand on the inset dial at 10 o'clock is designed to resemble the golden eagle, Minakami's symbol. The case back is also engraved with a design featuring a golden eagle and the snowfields of Mt. Omizukami. The PRW-61NJ features a Durasoft band, made from recycled off-cuts from the manufacturing process, which is expected to reduce environmental impact. Like the base model PRW-61, the case and resin case back are made from biomass plastic, which is expected to reduce environmental impact, embodying environmental considerations. Functionally, the watch is equipped with a triple sensor, allowing it to measure direction, barometric pressure/altitude, and temperature. In addition to measurement functions, it also offers practical features such as a radio-controlled clock and Tough Solar, which are essential watch functions.
