It can be used as a true bypass or buffered bypass loop switcher while supplying power to the effectors connected to Loop1 and Loop2. Switching of each effect loop is standard true bypass style, and can be used in the same way as buffered bypass by turning the input buffer ON/OFF. If the BJF Buffer in the input section is set to OFF, it can also be operated without supplying power (the LED will not light up).
