This series is based on the globally popular classic fairy tale, Moomin. Moominvalley, the setting for this classic fairy tale, is a seaside town in Finland where the original author, Tove Jansson, spent her time. The Moomin family are unique characters that reflect the personality of the original author. The Moomin Origins series is designed using scenes extracted from Moominvalley in November and its predecessor, Moominpappa at Sea, the story that follows on from November. These stories were written around the time that author Tove Jansson experienced the death of her mother, Signe, and both stories mark major turning points for the Moomin family.

The Moomin family leaves Moominvalley, where they have lived all their lives, and moves to an island with a lighthouse. Moominvalley in November depicts Moominvalley, the place the Moomin family left behind, and the friends who visit Moomin there. His friends search for Moomin, but of course they are unable to find him and so they also leave Moominvalley. And in the end, only Homsa Toft remains, waiting for the Moomin family in Moominvalley.

The "Origin" series expresses the loneliness and sadness that Homsa Toft experienced with natural, hand-drawn pen drawings. You can experience the unique atmosphere of Tove Jansson, as she expresses invisible elements such as wind and light using only lines with her distinctive touch. This work evokes new possibilities and deep emotions from the Moomin family as they set off on their journey.

The mug is shaped like Iittala's Teema mug, and the illustrations beautifully depict the expressions and gestures of each character in a pop style. Diameter 8.5cm, Height 8cm
