As a solo name, Carlos Aguirre's first full album was released in 7 years since “Origania,” which was announced in 2012. This piece is the culmination of his recent activities, depicting the lives of people who go around the “river,” which is the source of his creations, overlapping stories, and majestic natural scenes with delicate and beautiful piano playing.
Carlos Aguirre looks at scenes where nature and people interweave with a gentle, affectionate gaze and begins drawing with beautiful melodies. The project “La Musica del Agua - Music of the Water,” which a rare musician who has created new music by interweaving elements of various music based on Argentine folklore, has been working on in recent years, has finally come to fruition as an album.
All of the songs included in this work are works by great ancestors from their hometown and excellent musicians of the same generation, rooted in the people who have lived in the La Plata River basin, their culture, and the majestic nature that has surrounded them. The song is lyrical and sometimes idyllic, and while Aguirre cherishes that worldview, it breathes new life with piano accompaniment that is as clear as the wind, flickering like light, and gentle singing voice that is as clear as water.
While faithfully reproducing the original artwork, the Japanese edition is a double booklet with original lyrics, explanations by Aguirre, and parallel translations of each song's comments, and liner notes. All of the beautifully colored paintings, from jackets to booklets, are by female painter Pamela Villarasa, who has worked on a series of hand-drawn paintings, starting with Carlos Aguirre Grupo's masterpiece “Crema.” The exquisite works created by our ancestors from all over using the majestic La Plata River as a source of creation are passed down to modern musicians, and the colourful artwork, which is reminiscent of the activities of diverse organisms repeated under the blessings of the taiga, is also a must-see.
