(This is a traditional technique in which the kettle is baked over charcoal at approximately 900 degrees, forming a film of iron oxide on the surface to prevent rust. Boiled water is rich in divalent iron, which is easily absorbed by the body, making it effective for replenishing iron kettle nutrients.
