In the late 1950s, the French company Dassault developed a new generation delta wing fighter, the Mirage III, in response to a request from the French Air Force.
The first mass-produced model was the Mirage IIIC, which began to be deployed in combat in 1961.
The Mirage IIIE, a full-scale fighter-bomber, was then developed.
The first mass-produced Mirage IIIE made its first flight in January 1964, and 292 were produced, of which 183 were deployed to the French Air Force and exported to countries around the world.
The aircraft deployed to the Brazilian Air Force are called the Mirage IIIEBR, and those deployed to the Argentine Air Force are called the Mirage IIIEA.
The Mirage 5 was developed by modifying the Mirage IIIE, and is still in use as a first-line aircraft in the South American countries where it was adopted due to its low cost and high performance.
Overall length 31.3cm, overall width 17.1cm, over 180 parts, includes AIM-9B Sidewinder, bombs, drop tank parts, and high-quality decals made by Cartograf.
