This step-type pendulum clock uses a quartz movement made by the Japanese manufacturer SKP. It ticks every second. While not a radio-controlled clock, its quality is exceptional, maintaining a stable average monthly deviation of less than ±20 seconds even under poor conditions, with a yearly time deviation of around one minute. The clock is made of natural wood, with the frame carved using a potter's wheel technique. Its shape resembles a daruma doll, hence the name "Daruma Clock." Since clocks were traditionally hung in the best places in the home, this shape was created to symbolize happiness.
