The “EF-S18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS” achieves an image stabilization effect of approximately 4 steps in shutter speed conversion* by adopting a high-performance newly developed image stabilization unit and optimizing the control algorithm. Thus, power is demonstrated even in hand-held night scene photography, etc. in places where a tripod cannot be used. Furthermore, it is possible to automatically determine whether camera shake is due to normal shooting or whether streaming is being performed, and optimal image stabilization can be performed without being aware of mode switching.
