Unlike bright field illumination, which makes the scale appear as a silhouette by brightening the field of view, the scale itself glows red, preventing faint stars from being lost in the background. The brightness is adjustable in 8 levels, so you can use it at your preferred brightness. It also automatically turns off (gradually dims) after 1-2 minutes, preventing you from forgetting to turn it off after use.
