A wave of robberies has emerged in which modified vehicles steal cargo from high-speed trucks. Meanwhile, Dominic (Vin Diesel), who reigns supreme on the streets of Los Angeles, is confronted by a mysterious young man named Brian (Paul Walker) who challenges him to a street race. Dominic wins, but this leads Brian to join their gang. But his true identity is... A violent car action film depicting young people having fun street racing. To be honest, the drama itself isn't that great, and the characters are all extremely annoying in real life, but the film never gets boring because the characters' spirit is so vividly conveyed and the car action scenes are so dynamic. It's no exaggeration to say that this is a masterpiece that can be described as a modern-day Western, with modified cars roaring like horses as they gallop. (Matota Yasushi)
