Equipped with MagShield, this is a standard model for basket and surfcasting reels.

MagShield: Daiwa’s unique waterproof and durability technology that creates a film of magnetic fluid called “Mag Oil” in the gap between the rotor and body, blocking water and dust. Compared to waterproof systems using packing, it dramatically reduces the coefficient of friction between the rotor and body because it is liquid, resulting in surprisingly smooth rotation. The sustained initial smooth rotation performance is a major advantage for reels exposed to harsh environments such as rain and waves.

Air Rotor: The Air Rotor has a structure that can be called a rotor revolution. By dispersing the load with an optimally rimmed unique shape, it achieves a significant weight reduction with the same strength as conventional rotors. Rotor balance is also improved, providing a responsive rotation. It also excels in winding efficiency during long casts.

Quick Drag: A drag function that allows loosening and tightening with approximately one rotation of the drag knob. For example, when bottom fishing with a long cast, tightening the drag may cause the rod and reel to be pulled into the water. Conversely, if the drag is loosened, it will take time to fight the fish (tighten the drag) once it is hooked, which may result in the fish being lost. With Quick Drag, you can keep the drag loose until a fish is hooked, and then quickly tighten the drag once hooked, so there is no hesitation in fighting the fish.

DS4 (body/rotor material): A reel-specific fiber-reinforced special plastic created with Daiwa’s unique technology.

Foldable aluminum machine-cut handle: A highly rigid machine-cut handle that provides a stable winding feel. Foldable for excellent portability.

DIGIGEAR II: Daiwa’s unique digital design technology “DIGIGEAR” has further evolved. Ultra-high-precision machining technology is adopted to realize the ideal tooth surface derived from digital analysis, achieving tooth surface precision several times higher than that of forged gears. Special lapping is applied to the drive gear, and the optimal balance between the pinion gear and drive gear is achieved, improving durability.

Cross Wrap: By adopting a wide-angle cross-winding method, the line is wound in a cross pattern to prevent the line from digging into the spool winding section and the line from shifting. This is particularly effective in reducing line trouble when using fine lines or PE lines, and also provides a pleasant casting feel.

Air Bail: A bail shape that dramatically reduces line entanglement problems by sending the line smoothly to the line roller. Furthermore, the hollow structure significantly increases strength without changing the weight.

Twist Buster II: A structure that greatly eliminates line twist, which has been the fate of spinning reels, by tapering the line roller and rolling the line.

Shower Washable: Can be washed with running water. (Maintenance is required according to the instruction manual after washing)

Cast Lock Manual Return: When the bail is opened during casting, the rotor rotation is locked to prevent accidental bail reversal during casting. For safety reasons, the bail is returned manually.

Infinite Stopper: A stopper that instantly stops the reel’s reverse rotation with the friction of a pawl. Provides a comfortable operation with a tight feeling with no play or looseness.

Line Fall Prevention Mechanism: Equipped with a line guard sliding line fall prevention mechanism to prevent the line from falling off the spool and getting caught between the spool and rotor.
