The design of the emblem is based on the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force's mission to protect Japan's peace and independence, and features the Japanese flag (Japanese flag) in the upper row, and the cherry blossom star, which has traditionally been decorated on uniforms and other items as a symbol of the Ground Self-Defense Force, in the lower row.The emblem has a Japanese sword, which has been a symbol of warriors since ancient times, placed in the center, with its "blade" expressing toughness and its "sheath" expressing a love of peace.
