This is a pancake-type standard lens with compactness that matches mirrorless cameras. It is optimized for full-size Nikon Z mount sensors, and by adding 1 aspherical lens to the 6-element orthometer type, it has a 7-element configuration, and achieves brightness called F2 while maintaining the advantages of the orthometer type where the optical system can be miniaturized. One of the features of the orthometer type is that distortion aberrations are extremely low, and it is possible to draw straight motifs without feeling distorted.
Since the total length from the mount surface is compact at 32 mm, there is little stress when carrying it in and out of a bag, and the 40mm field of view that can also be used as a semi-wide-angle lens is suitable for regular use lenses. The shortest shooting distance is 0.3 meters, and it is also useful for table photos. Both mounts include a dome-shaped metal screw-in hood that does not impair the compactness of the lens. There is a φ52mm thread on the outer circumference of the hood, so the front cap can be shared with or without a hood.
It is equipped with electronic contacts, and in addition to Exif information and in-body image stabilization (3-axis), it is compatible with 3 types of focus adjustment support functions (focus adjustment due to changes in focus point frame color, focus adjustment with peaking function, and focus adjustment with the magnification button) by combining a telecommunication-compatible body with the latest firmware.
