Lokta Mini Tiles Notebook – Large (21x15cm) – 45 Leaves – Includes Bookmark – Teal
Vare fra Storbritannien

Beskrivelse
The same repeating geometric tile pattern as the medium natural Mini Tiles notebook, but scaled up to a large format and set against a rich teal-dyed lokta paper cover. The teal gives this notebook a completely different personality — vivid and confident where the natural version is quiet and raw. The geometry becomes more pronounced against the strong colour, the contrast more defined. A fabric bookmark is included with a QR code linking to behind-the-scenes video of the lokta paper-making process in Nepal. Inside: 45 leaves of handmade lokta paper, unlined.
What Sets This Apart
The teal is applied during the paper-making process, not printed afterwards. Because the paper is handmade, the colour varies from notebook to notebook — some deeper, some brighter, some with more green, some with more blue. No two are identical.
Large format (21 × 15 cm) gives the tile pattern room to breathe and provides more writing space per spread than the medium version.
Lokta paper from the bark of the Daphne Papyracea bush, handmade in Nepal. Tree-free, acid-free, naturally durable and insect-resistant.
The fabric bookmark includes a QR code linking to video of the traditional lokta paper-making process: bark stripping, pulping, screen-spreading, sun-drying.
Unlined pages throughout. Takes rollerballs, fine-tips, and pencil well. Fountain pens may feather — experiment on the first page before committing your best thoughts.
The Tile Pattern on Teal The mini tile motif — small, repeating geometric shapes in a grid-like arrangement — draws on craft traditions found across Islamic architecture, Hindu temple design, and Nepali woodcarving. Against the teal background, the geometry is more visually striking than on the undyed natural version. The contrast between print and dyed paper gives the design a contemporary edge while the handmade texture keeps it grounded in craft.
Size and Details Large format: 21 × 15 cm. 45 leaves (90 sides). Teal-dyed cover with mini tile print. Fabric bookmark with QR code. Made in Nepal. Fair trade.
Gift-Ready The teal colour and larger format make this feel like a more substantial gift than the medium natural version. The bookmark adds a finishing touch, and the QR code video provides a talking point that makes the gift feel more layered than a standard notebook. Good for creative types, journalers, and anyone starting a new project who would appreciate a fresh, distinctive notebook to write in. Works well for people who like bold colour and geometric design alongside handmade objects.
Common Questions Will the teal colour be exactly the same as the photo? Probably not exactly. Hand-dyeing produces variation between batches — some notebooks lean more green, others more blue, and overall saturation differs. If you expect pantone-matched consistency, you may be disappointed. If you appreciate that each notebook is slightly unique, the variation is part of the appeal.
How does this compare to the natural medium Mini Tiles? Different format, different personality. The natural medium is smaller, undyed, and understated. This large teal version is bolder, more colour-forward, and includes a fabric bookmark. Same geometric pattern, different expression of it.
Is handmade lokta paper durable enough for everyday use? Very much so. Lokta paper is naturally acid-free and insect-resistant. It outlasts wood-pulp paper by centuries — the oldest surviving lokta document is over a thousand years old.
